It was interesting and good background knowledge to hear the story of how Manaikalani came about. This gave me more connection to the programme and the real purpose behind it (from a real need). It was great to find out simple little tricks and shortcuts to improve my everyday use of Google apps. I love the idea of the voice typing to support students who are more reluctant writers. Breaking out into bubbles to have the added support was very helpful. By using a more organised drive, the shortcuts and other tips will add to improved planning and organisation. Voice typing will be great for my writers who are only level 1 of the curriculum, how exciting for them to share a story without having to write every last word. I liked the links that were made to pencil and paper and how the digital version has the same applications and same needs to be organised!
Kia ora Nicola,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the first day. I think understanding the history behind this kaupapa is so empowering. Hearing the why and how is so powerful for teachers. It's great to have you on board for this journey. I love the graphic you created for your newsletter.
